Comic-Book Round-Up: November 2011

A Round-Up of all our comic reviews from the past month! This month we've got (from Marvel) The Avengers #19, The Punisher #5, Magneto: Not A Hero #1, and The Avenging Spider-Man #1 . Over on DC, we've got a bunch of New 52 titles like: Batman #3, Justice League #3, The Flash #3 and loads more!

The Flash #3

"There's not much I can complain about with The Flash #3. It's got a clearer story, art that continues to look awesome, and a great narrative - all of which makes it a joy to read. Unmissable."

9.3/10 - Comic of the Month (Nov. 2011)

Batwoman #3

"Batwoman #3 is the most dramatic and action-packed issue yet. A story that's getting more and more intriguing with every issue, some incredible writing, and flawless art - that really is some of the best in the business right now - make issue 3 unmissable."

The New Avengers #18

"In the end though, New Avengers #18 is the first proper step into a story which I am very excited about. It does a good job, with great art and good writing - if the story stays like this for the duration then it's going to be something very special indeed."

Aquaman #3

"Aquaman #3 has paved the way for an issue that could be absolutely outstanding next month. While at the same time remains an entertaining read with an ever-improving story, some great art, and good writing. If you haven't already, you really need to give Aquaman a go."

The Avengers #19

"But generally, The Avengers #19 is a book with a good story, but also one that suffers from underwhelming art and occasionally poor writing. Thus, making it inferior to the New Avengers' take on this story."

Batman #3

"What I'm trying to say is, although I still have my doubts with this series - it's definitely improving. The writing remains Blockbuster-Standard, the art looks great and the story is improving. If things become a little easier to inderstand next issue - then there's a high chance I could fall in love with this series."

The Punisher #5

"Basically, The Punisher #5 I think is just the calm before the storm. It's nowhere near as exciting as previous issues, and the story moves a lot slower. But I believe that the series will be back to it's action-packed ways next month after The Punisher's battle scars have gone away. #5 is worth a look if only for the great art and the story that's bound to pick up again next month."

The Avenging Spider-Man #1

"Basically, Avenging Spider-Man is a little disappointing. It's got a very bare-bones story, that could develop into a better one, but right now fails to get me excited. Thankfully, it's saved by a great script, and some truly beautiful art that should be framed and applauded."

Batgirl #3

"In the end, Batgirl #3 is a disappointing entry in an otherwise excellent series. The art remains great, but the writing has become a little dodgy and heavy-handed. It's a series worth sticking with as next month I can see it improving - but that doesn't stop this issue from being a big drop in quality."

Magneto: Not A Hero #1

"In the end, Magneto: Not A Hero is a bit disappointing. Even though I understand the story now, it's still not something I can get too excited for. The art and writing redeems this issue slightly, but not enough for this to be an essential read."

Justice League #3

"All of this makes Justice League #3 a huge disappointment. It may look pretty, but that doesn't stop it from being plotless and boring. We've had 3 months (ish) of random fight scenes - now it's time for a story!"
